No way….

I’m not weighing myself right now, I’m not measuring myself either. With what I ate this weekend and today and the fact I have my period again. Nope, just not going to happen. This getting older and have more irregular periods, about every 20 days or a bit less makes gaining and losing interesting. Each period I gain 3-4 lbs, one week or so later I’m down that 3-4 lbs. But it’s hard to get past the hunger after I’ve eaten my way from one end of the cow to the other. Some times it’s easy to control the eating other times it’s just not possible, no matter how much restraint I have. I do try, honest I do but I just can’t help myself some times. Like this past weekend. For the race I was good, I knew to much and I’d puke but after that and a nap we had roast, carrots and potatoes then less then 30 minutes later I was eating peanut butter and toast. Then about an hour after that I had 3 chocolate covered graham cracker cookies. Yesterday was a bit better but I still snacked a good chunk of the afternoon. Today was much better but I’m starving, or at least my stomach is saying it’s hungry…my mind is finally telling it to shut up. It’s just not easy sometimes.

Tomorrow will be better, at least I’ll try my best. I do know that Brenda and I are going to go play tennis and on Wednesday and Thursday we are going to walk early morning and Saturday we’ll challenge ourselves to the walk between our homes, about 5 1/2 miles total.

I hope you all have a great week. Keep up the great work with your life style changes, with your diets, with taking care of yourselves.

I’ll be back later on and hopefully able to say I’m eating better, I exercised, I made a menu for the week. HOPEFULLY!!!

Take care my friends, God Bless!!!

Heh heh - interesting comment ahead of mine :) - anyways, you're doing GREAT - even if you only lose an ounce a week you're still going in the direction you want!

I know that feeling. It's not easy to not munch. You work out soooo much. It's way better. You're inspirational, you know?!

ONLY 3 of the cookies? You're doing better than I am! It happens. To all of us! And I just don't have the answer because, if I did, I wouldn't have the exact same issues. I do have a friend who says that, if I will just eat the right things, I won't crave the bad ones. And I've done it and it works...until I don't let it work anymore. Sigh. But hey, getting out there every day and getting some exercise is a good, positive thing! And you know that I agree---you ARE inspirational!

I agree, only eating 3 of the cookies is great. You could have been like me and ate a ton of stupid chocolate chips tonight! Leave the scale alone for a bit, he'll be there when you're ready!

It's soooo hard not to go crazy with the foods we love.

Good job on eating only 3!!

Hi Julie, I wanted to thank you for the nice comment you left me.

I read this post and thought of 2 things that have helped me, and wanted to offer them for your consideration:

1. It was a POWERFUL help to me the day I chose to NEVER ever again say "I can't". Instead, I admitted that the truth was... "I won't". That was hard, but it gave me back my POWER TO CHOOSE.

I believe that is the system God designed, where we have this marvelous thing called Choice. Once we realize it's not a matter of "can't", but a matter of "won't", we are empowered again. We are NOT victims of the old "I can't" mentality.

It is NOT a matter of blame, or shame, or anything browbeating like that. It is simply personal responsibility as to what we do with this power to choose we have been entrusted with.

2. Down to the "practical", LOL! I have recently been started each morning off by making a big batch of sugar-free gelatin! I don't do aspartame, so don't use sugar-free Jello brand. But I just make it with knox unflavored gelatin and stevia and other sugar substitutes, and flavorings.

And whenever I get hungry, or honestly, if I just "think" I am hungry, and it's between meals, I just have one of those that I have already poured into little serving containers.

Sometimes, if I have the calories to spare, I'll even put a little greek yogurt on top, but you don't have to. It's very filling, and keeps me from munching on extra calories.

Hope some of that helps a little. :-)

Hugs,
Loretta
