Weekly Weigh-in….

Well I just can’t go to camp without checking my weight. I was going to and hope for the best but it is Weekly Weigh-in Hosted by Marvelous Mommy so I had to.

200#, goal #1 met, I made the 200 mark before the end of August. YEAH!!! So all my wishy washiness is still paying off. I’m excited guys because that means, with lucky that is, my next weigh-in will be in the 100’s. I’m excited, so very excited. For more the 25 years I haven’t been under the 200 mark.

I will walk a lot while at camp, everything is far away from each place and I’ll bring my pedometer just to make sure I’m getting my miles in. I will be weighing in the week of the 9th and I’ll do a new set of measurements too.

So with that did and done for now, it’s onward and upwards (or for the scale, downwards I hope). Remember I will be gone from Sunday the 1st to Monday the 9th but I’ll come back with a bang and start my next goal which is 10 lbs gone by Halloween and the last 10 lbs gone by Christmas. I don’t know if it’s possible because it has taken me 8 months to lose 25 lbs and that leaves just 4 months for the last 20 but I will give it my best and see. My goals aren’t written in stone, more like chalk lines on the concrete but this is a life style change not a real diet so if it takes a bit longer and stays off for the rest of my life, well I will be a happy camper.

Take care my friends. Good luck to you all. I’m off to check on everyone progress, thoughts and ideas. I so love having you guys there for me. Thank you so much. Now have a great rest of the week and God Bless you all.

Follow me back Tuesday…

Photobucket

Today is a day to meet and greet some new friends. Did you know that I have met so many men and ladies out there that I couldn’t even begin to imagine? There is someone out there made just for you. No…not “that” kind of a friend, I mean the kind that can teach you something you didn’t even know you didn’t know. Someone to help you through your day. Someone to share what you’ve done with. Someone that’s there to give you a pat on the back when no one at home seems to notice. Someone that appreciates you for you and not just someone that cooks, cleans, does the laundry, mows the lawn, cans all that food, takes care of the books and takes care of the kids. Or for that mommy, wife, daughter that has to do all of that and work outside the home. Opps, daddy, husband or son too.

Hosted by Survey Junkie, Little Yaya'sReview Retreat , Boobies,BabiesAndABlog & this weeks Guest Host is Dave from  Musings of Life

Photobucket My Photo Review Retreat  My Photo

When you have a minute or 60 stop by and visit all these wonderful hosts and just see what there is out there you just didn’t even know about.

Take care my friends and have a blessed and wonderful afternoon.

No I’m not dead…

But I am tired of my life style change. There I said it. I’m tired of being good, watching everything I eat, working out all the time, walking, tennis, swimming. I’m tired of counting calories, watching my time on exercise, logging everything on the computer.

Is this ever just going to be come second nature? EVER???'

What I’m not tired of is putting on clothes or sizes I haven’t worn in over 18 years. I’m not tired of standing on the scale and seeing 25 lbs gone. I’m not tired of being able to walk 4 miles and only be tired not dead. I’m not tired of feeling my legs and finding muscles. I’m not tired of looking down and seeing boobs and no tummy.

So…………………….

That means being good, watching everything I eat, working out as much as possible. Walking, tennis, swimming. It means logging all the foods I eat, the exercise I do. It means continuing with my new life style until it becomes second nature. It has to right? RIGHT!!!

I know this week I’m not being the greatest on the exercise first because of family stuff, very late daycare, shopping with my mama and a birthday party. But I am eating lots of fruits and veggies and staying away from the candy and starches. Then next week I will be gone all week for Venture Crew Scout Camp (YEAH!!!) but there I will be working every day but with big kids, lots of walking and even climbing. I am not preparing any of my own meals there so will just be careful not to over eat with what they offer.

So I will start again with all that I know I need to learn and do on the 9th of August and that will also mean my weigh in and measuring.

I am making so many mistakes with this life style change but it’s a learning experience and it took me a very long time to get to where I am now so I’ll just keep learning, making mistakes and seeing what can happen in life. 25 lbs, over 45” of fat in 9 months, well that’s something. Just think what I can do with the rest of my life. I bet I can be more healthy, more fit, more shapely then ever in my life (well maybe not as a teen living and working on the farm).

Thank you all for all your words of support, your thoughts and ideas, your help in all that has gotten me this far. I guess I am excited to see what is possible with your help. Thank you!!!

Now take care and if you don’t hear from me before the 9th remember I’ll be back to share my ups and downs, my opps and learnings, my thoughts and feelings.

Have a great, fantastic, wonderful, productive, blessed couple of weeks. God Bless you all!!!

Oh by the way, Mike hooked up the Wii last night, I haven’t gotten to try it out yet but it sure does look cool and exciting. I have to look into netflix and see if they rent out Wii games. I think one of you suggested that to me, sorry can’t remember who.

I so love this blog hop, it’s so up my alley. I have met so many wonderful bloggers.

This week for me has just been beyond busy.

Between scout camp and baking… I got to go Wednesday and brought the boys up 7 dozen peanut butter cookies, 8 dozen chocolate cookies, a ton of rice krispie bars and other goodies. I helped with dinner, dishes, home work and games.

I haven’t had to time blog, post, comment or anything. Next week is suppose to be calmer but first this week has to finish up with time with daddy tomorrow and some new chickens, game night with mama, Scott and Mike, daycare on Saturday and then paint balling with my scouts and then shopping and mowing on Sunday.

I hope you all have a wonderful Follow Friday and the most blessed, relaxing, rejuvenation weekend possible. God Bless you all!!!

Today is WMWW and WW-I…

Huh, you said. I heard it so here I’ll show you. WMWW is Watch My Weight Wednesday, it’s hosted by Angie and it’s a perfect way to meet and greet follow people trying to lose weight and keep it off. WW-I is Weekly Weigh-in hosted by Amy. This place makes you accountable for you weekly successes or nots. You can hook up with either if you want too and then go and see how everyone is doing. Give some encouragement and bloggly love.

For me this week I haven’t lost an ounce. It might be the fact I’m getting my period, again! Or maybe the fact that I’ve been baking for my scouts and daycare and on Monday ate 6 fresh from the oven peanut butter cookies plus dough and Tuesday fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies plus dough. Or maybe it’s the box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch I opened last Thursday and finished up yesterday. Or just maybe it’s the couple dozen peanut M&M’s that I have eaten. I prefer to blame it on my period, how about you?

I do have to say I have been working out hard. Last week to this week, in 8 days I have walked 27.4 miles, I have played tennis twice and then a cool down walk of a mile, I’ve gone swimming twice plus weigh trained twice. So it’s a good thing I’ve been doing that or I’m sure that scale would of shown an increase instead of staying at 201.

I did eat good this week too. Lots of fruits and veggies along with my own chickens with little or no fat on them so I’m still learning and I knew the other stuff wasn’t good for me but it just tasted and smelled so good I couldn’t help myself.

So there you have it. I’m still trying hard (mostly, I am!!) and I’m excited to measure myself on the 31st to see what results I have for the month of July. I am loving my legs and butt, they are shaping up so nicely. My tummy is shrinking, in fact last night to go play tennis I put on a pair of size 18 no stretch, no give jean shorts and I didn’t have to lay down to do it. I was able to bend over and pick the ball up with out losing my breath and I felt good. I love my size 16 stretch jean shorts but know I can wear them because they stretch. So it’s all working. I’ve lost 10” off my waist so far and for me that’s impressive and I’m proud of myself. I would like to get to a 36” waist, that sounds like a nice number and a healthy one too.

Oh I almost forgot, how could I do that? I got a Wii from craigslist last night. A man in my home town listed it at 3:45 in the afternoon, at 4:15 he sold it to me and he’s delivering it to Mike for me this morning. For some reason I decided to just check out craigslist and there is was, just like it was meant to be. The best part, I got it for $150.00 and it still comes with a 2 year warranty because he just bought it at Christmas time for his kids and they don’t play it. He figured maybe 10 times it’s been used and he paid over $400.00 for all the goodies it comes with. So now I’m on the hunt for the Wii fit and Sport games (it comes with something sport he said so I’ll see what he’s talking about). Both Mike and Jim are excited because it comes with extra controllers, num chucks, a cross bow and some more manly stuff. I’m excited because I now will own one and can see just what you are all talking about.

Good luck my friends on your life style changes. Please tell me how your doing and anything you’ve learned pass on. I really am enjoying this new way of life. I know the goods and bads and mostly I follow the good path but those bads, well sometimes they just jump right out and grab me. How about you?

Take care and have a most blessed day today.

Friday Follow blog hops

Now today is all those wonderful Friday blog hops. I don’t think I even know how many there are out there. There’s no way I can enter them all and do everyone justice by visiting tons of blogs so I just join Diana at The Girl Creative New Friend Friday and Java at Never Growing Old Over 40 Bloggers. It is such a blast meeting and greeting new people so if your in a place where you have a few minutes go and check out Diana and Java and add your blog and prepare to meet some super terrific people. What’s so cool about these blog hops, your can join today and take all week to visit all the  blogs you can find to enjoy.

I know that I’m not posting anywhere near as much as I usually do but this week has been Daily Vacation Bible School for the daycare kids, plus Brenda and I are exercising at least 4 times a week after work each night, Scouts on Mondays and we are also building a water raft for swimming at my parents house/lake. Plus it’s Sally’s birthday tomorrow and I’ve been working on something special for her in-between all that’s going on. So forgive me for not being here as much and also for not getting to all your blogs. I promise I’ll get back but I’m thinking it’ll be a bit longer before I can get to you all. Next week is scout camp and though I’m not going up for the week I am going up Wednesday evening and bringing my boys treats and fresh bread. Then on Thursday our little town is hosting the Moving Wall and there is music in the park that night and I told daddy I’d take him. Friday is our family game night and then I’m hoping we can go camping but if not I have daycare on Saturday.

So my friends, do take care and have a relaxing, fantastic, wonderful weekend. God Bless you all!!!

I passed!!!!

Now according to the doctors scale I weighted 204.4 but I did weigh myself and measure before I headed to the doctors and I was 201. I wrote down, for the doctor, my weight month by month along with my waist changes and he really was nice and impressed and supportive. Since I have been using my scale for all of my weigh loss so far the doctor went by my numbers. He signed off on all the requirements and also I have no limitations, I can even go scuba diving if I wanted too.

You know how happy I am, I’m so happy and relieved. Now it’s on to the next goal. My big goal is still 180 by the first of the year but I should set a goal before that so here’s what I’m thinking. There are 5 months to go and I have 21 lbs to go, that’s 4.2 lbs a month so that means by Halloween I should be down another 10 lbs. I want to be down the extra pound this month for an even 200 for my August weigh-in.

I have some physical goals I want to meet too. Brenda and I have been walking together the past couple of weeks and we have a hill on our walk that we are going to run up. It’s a big hill and goes for about 1/4 of a mile and so far I can run up 1/2 of it. I know it’s not far but it’s a start. So by time fall rolls around I will be able to run that hill. I’m also up to walking 2.5 miles in 35 minutes and would like to increase the distant another mile or so.

I now have a questions. Since I live in Minnesota and winter is cold, icy and hard to get outside to exercise in, which would be better?  A treadmill or a Wii? Really I can’t afford either but if it’s possible which would be the best to keep the weight off and the goal going? I probably will end up just doing what I’ve done so far but I like  to hear your thoughts and ideas.

So now it’s onward and upwards to another pound loss this week and another few inches.

How are you doing this week? I know, it’s a new week but got any goals to share, ideas to teach, thoughts about it all?

Oh my BP was 120/74 and my pulse was 76. I had my blood drawn for my thyroid and cholesterol and when that comes back I’ll share that.

Take care my friends and thank, thank you so very much for all your love and support. God Bless you all!!

Tomorrows the day…

And yes, I have a headache, I’m a touch crabby but not terrible yet but I have done everything almost exactly like I was told. I did drink a tad more water then 3 cups, with walking in this heat I had too. I did eat a chicken sandwich for lunch but otherwise haven’t had anything else all day. Most of the week was just fruit. Will I make the 200 lbs for the doctors tomorrow, I haven’t a clue. Should I weigh myself before I go in? I was going to but it won’t make any difference because his scale is different then mine so I’m just going to go and hope for the best. If it’s close I will go naked and step on it again, they just can close their eyes.

I also have to share, I read the small print on the BSA health forms. The weight limit is highly, strongly recommended but in the end it’s the doctor that says if you can do it or not.

I’ll tell you all about the camp physical when I get home and the kids are napping. Thank you all for all your words of wisdom and support. I’ve really needed it this past week.

Take care and God Bless!!!

Blog hops….

If you are like me it’s such a thrill to meet and greet new people. To enjoy what others have to share, to learn new things. To compare yourself to others and just see where you are in life. I LOVE IT!!!

Today I am part of the

I forgot and I’m sorry….

Last week I found this cool place to go and share (like WMWW Watch My Weight Wednesdays with ANGIE.) It’s called ‘Weekly Weigh-in hosted by AMY. I was suppose to grab her button and do a post and completely forgot about it except the link up part, I remembered that. I’m sorry Amy and everyone else for forgetting to post. Life here has been a hell of a roller coaster lately and my mind is just not as organized as I’d like it to be.

Photobucket

See that 160.4, that’s not my weight but sure wouldn’t mind if it was. I weighed in at the chiropractors office last night figuring his would be as close to the doctors scale as anywhere and I have to say it wasn’t fun. I was 205.6. That’s 2.5 lbs more then my scale and right now that’s a huge number. Dr. K.  knows just how important this camp physical is for me and gave me a couple of pointers to make the 201 by Monday. Like he said though this is NOT something he recommends or condones but he said I should be really close. Eat just fruit from now until Sunday evening. No salt what so ever and on Sunday drink a minimal amount of water and skip eating until after my appointment on Monday. I’ll get rid of all excess water weight and be a crab but everything should be fine. Once this physical is done I can go back to doing what I’ve been doing and all will be just fine.

I’m still going to go by my scale for my weigh in’s and such because that’s what I started out by so on the 2nd of this year my scale read 225 and it now says 203. I’m happy, it’s slow going but I’m happy. By the 2nd of January 2011 I want the scale to read 180. That’s my goal and I’m planning on sticking to it for now and for always.

So again I cheated and linked before I posted and I apologize. I try and do most things by the rules. I’ll be back next week and that will be after my doctors appointment so can tell you what he had to say. Oh please let him be nice and know I’ve been working hard.

Take care my friends. Have a great afternoon and God Bless!!!

Oh, Oh….

My life style change just turned into a very fast diet. The doctors appointment I wanted for the end of the month is now for 10:45 Monday morning. That’s just 5 days 22 hours away from now. That’s a pound a day I need to lose. Is it possible? I don’t know, I’ve never HAD to lose weight like this. That doctors scale has to read less then 201, it has too.

So people out in blog land, I need your help. Ideas for quick removal of 5 pounds please. I promise to go back to the life style change when the doctors appointment is over with because as long as I am in scouts I can never ever weigh more then 200 lbs and I really want to get to 180 and stay there for the rest of my life.

Just wanted to tell you what’s what and plea for help or ideas.

Take care my friends, God Bless!!!

Have you waited long enough?

I have so I won’t go into any chatting or anything, I’ll just give you the numbers and then chitter chatter a bit.

My weight is 203. Down 2 pounds. I still have to lose 5 more pounds before heading to the doctors mid month. So totally 22 lbs so far.

I’ve lost another 7 1/2” inches so a total of 43 1/2”. I wish the doctor would see this part but he won’t notice that from year to year, he’s only going to look at the scale. According to Dr. Oz, if a waist is below 40” there is less likely hood of bad things happening, so only 1 1/2” to go.  I now have somewhat of a shape, it’s still not small by any means but my waist is smaller then my bust and hips. See me smiling. :o)!!!!

So not bad I think. Oh a very long ways to go and it’s getting a bit harder now to get the weight to move. I also know that means more exercise but it’s getting to be very hard right now to get the extra time to do them. There is no more quiet mornings, no more no kid nap times and when 6:30 rolls around, after working 14 hours, I am out of energy. I wish normal life could count towards exercise. Oh I’ve heard dance when mopping the floor, wiggle while vacuuming, reach and stretch while dusting but really, I don’t think that is going to help me much. Oh well I’ll just keep plugging away at it and though it’s a super slow process it’s all heading in the right direction.

Tonight is Brenda and my night out. I’m thinking swimming but first a good bike ride. That will be super good and with this heat I should burn off a few more pounds and calories. I know, drink plenty of water….I will, I promise.

So lets see, goals for my next weigh in (which by the way will be the 19th and the same week I go to the doctor).

1. Less sugar. I’ve eaten just a wee bit more (well over the 4th a bit more then wee) then I should be.

2. More water. I did do the jug trick and it has helped me to see just how much I’m drinking and my day is never less then 50 oz. and more like 70 or so.

3. A new menu each week. I read once that if you find a menu that works for you to keep eating it all the time. I have found out that is boring. I need something new, something with taste, each week. It’s hard cooking in the evenings now too because Mike is working with his dad and they have huge, very huge lunches and when it’s time for supper no one is really hungry but me. I am going to see how a bigger snack in the afternoon for me will work so that dinner can just be a light sandwich or soup.

4. Exercise, gotta do something about that. I am still to embarrassed to flop like a fish on the floor with the daycare kids here. Yes they’d find it fun but I don’t want them going home and telling everyone what I’m doing. Vain? A bit.

5. Find a site that tells me about every day household chores. I want to see if weeding the garden can count towards exercise, how about cleaning out the chicken coop, carry in wood. I’m guessing there’s nothing really out there but I’m going to try and see.

So for now, those are my goals. How are you doing? What’s happening for you this summer? I do wish you all well and I do so appreciate your kind words and support for me. I really, truly do!!!!

Now take care and I am hoping that I’ll have a new bread recipe to share with you later on this week. I am back to making my own breads and working on a good, easy recipe for fresh bread. Also a soup recipe. One with a little bit of chicken or pork or even beef in it, lots of veggies and a broth (I hate creamy ones). I know just a basic veggie recipe but something that has a bit of a zing or zest to it would be nice. I don’t know to much about spices so need to read and see what I can add.

Have a great week my friends. God Bless you all!!!
