Thank you…

In just over two hours I had at least 13 of your comments with terrific advice. So I will be joining the gym the end of this month. I have to do it by the end of this month, they pro-rate and it’s already 1/3 of the way through this month and I still can get out and walk and exercise so I figured December is a great time to join. So to cut corners even more on a budget that is tight I’m thinking of disconnecting the house phone. We mainly use the cell phones anyway and those are paid for through my husbands business. Only thing is I don’t think my grandma will like that. I do have an 800 number on my cell so she can still use the house phone but when I sorta suggested it a while back it wasn’t taken kindly too. My mama’s another one that’s not thrilled but we’ll just see. Mike did say he’d help too. So it will work out and that means I will work out.

Today I was figuring out the next weeks menu and the more I follow along with everyone I find out that what I thought was great is just good. I have a long ways to go figuring out what really is good for a person and what’s not. It’s a struggle to make sure the calories are there and the carbs, fats and sugars aren’t. I know that once I get it, I’ll have it for a life time. I am far from the beginning like in January this year but it’s going to be a never ending process of figuring it all out. But then again, if I were to figure it all out then what fun would it be learning. So learning it is.

I got a bunch of purple tators the other day. I was talking about putting it into a soup and Allan told me to not waste them in there, to roast them in the oven for 30 minutes with olive oil and seasonings. Well that’s what they are doing right now and the smell, WOW the smell. It’s wonderful!! I am also making my batch of veggie beef soup for the next 6-10 meals. I love having a huge jar to scoop out of and I used just a small 6 oz steak in this huge batch so even though red meat is not suppose to be your friend, it’ll be less then an ounce in each bowl and the protein will be good for me. I just tasted it and it’s prefect. Want to see….?….

Here’s the the tators before and after baking….

Here’s my soup…it’s still hot…

So thank you everyone for answering my question this morning. I will just give it a shoot and see how it all works out. It sure can’t hurt me and since I’m just about 40 lbs lighter and I’m feeling better about myself just maybe it won’t bother me that there’s people there. I am wondering what it’s like at 5 am when they open up. I might have to give that a shot on days I don’t start daycare until 8:00. Just an idea.

Take care you all and have the most blessed afternoon!

Another great things about the gym is if they offer classes. I know I took some classes at my gym in the evenings. They were so fun and you didn't really realize how much you were working out.

I don't have a land line, and I probably never will. Everyone already calls my cellphone, so why give them another number to get it. If you need a local number sign up for google voice. It will give you a local number but it will ring to your cell phone. That is what I do. (we needed a local number to be able to buzz people into our building.)

Sorry I haven't been commenting much. I read all your posts but it is typically on the go on my cell phone. It is a pain to leave comments on the cell phone. I always tell myself i iwll post at home, but I always forget. FAIL. haha!

Keep up the good work!

Good for you! Sometimes a gym is the best way to get things going. Personally, I have my chickens and goats which is fine because I'm so far away from a gym.

WE love purple potatoes. Gonna grow them next year. Yum!

Julie, I love your goals in the sidebar!! 4 miles 4 times/wk! Impressive!! I'm so happy it is all working out for you! :)

p.s. could you take Jim to the gym? (I love how that sounds!!) But it is a serious question. You both can spend your time exercising together and he'll get motivated too! (but his visits will be $5 each... oww.)

I think joining a gym is great motivation - although the gym I belong to now moved their class times that don't work for me (but I am not complaining because ssshhh, they have yet to charge me and I've been going there for six month!)

Hope it all works out!

I didn't get to read blogs yesterday, but a gym is a good thing... as long as you go there! Glad that you can pay month to month so you can see if it will work for you. I did the gym for a few years then bought my own treadmill, exercise bike and adjustable dumbbells over the years when I could get them on sale and 0 percent interest making payments like monthly gym fees. Just find what works for you!!!!

Havn't had a land line around here for many years... of course I don't talk on the phone much either.....
