Smiles…..see the smiles?…..

How can you not when the day is like this outside?

Oh I know it means we had more snow. It’s Minnesota, it’s one of the things we do best but look at the blue sky. The sun is out and it’s 21* but if you read the thermometer it’s says it’s 40* in the sunshine. We went for a walk today, just a slow one cuz you know 2 & 4 year olds have legs that are almost as short as mine. :o)

See this…?…

Okay it’s been on Allan’s list of things to eat for weeks but I am not that adventurous and have been himming and hawing about trying it, And texted Allan yesterday about what kind to get. Well by time he got back to me I was already home so read some labels, talked to a store person and they said the Roasted Garlic is wonderful and so was the Sweet Bell Peppers. So I gave it a whirl and picked up both. Only 50 calories for 2 tablespoons and it’s good for you.

Well I gave it a try for lunch with the baby carrots and …. it didn’t kill me but I think I prefer my carrots plain. Now I did just try the garlic one, so maybe next time the sweet peppers. Now for the Tuna, I don’t think so. That’s still cat food.

This is new week. I am going to do the best I can by keeping up with what I’ve been doing. I do have a little extra I’m planning on adding to my work outs. Since it’s nicer now I’m going to start getting my miles in here on the days I can’t go work out, like Wednesday and Friday this week. At the gym I have been going for speed but at home I go for distant. So the mixture should shake it up a little bit. I have invited my daddy to join me at the gym twice a week. It’s been fun and exhausting taking him. I worried a bit about him but he’s really doing good now so I can concentrate more on my work outs.

So a new week full of good things, challenges and so much more. I can do this, I will do this. No matter what the scale says, no matter what the tape measure says I will become the healthier me. I have made amazing progress so far and have a wee bit more to go. It’s exciting, it’s wonderful, it’s amazing.

Take care my friends. God Bless!!!

For me, hummus was an acquired taste. The first time I tried it I didn't care for it at all. Then, after going without any dip or creamy spread of any sort for several weeks, I tried it and liked it. But still, only certain brands & certain flavors, lol.

You have to acquire a taste for humus, it took me a few tries but now I love it.
It was 20 here this morning, foggy, windy and so much humidity in the air the sidewalk was icy. I had to run 30 min today so I drove to the gym and got on the treadmill.
I do not know how you do it..I kept looking at the timer, tried changing it up by setting the darn thing to intervals, prayed the torture would end but nothing worked. That 35 min was H E double L!

You are amazing! I always feel a positive vibe when I visit your blog... I'm sure people around you in person feel the same way. Doesn't mean you are perfect, I know, but you have a positive energy about you. I love it!!

You have to have really well made hoummous to like it - red pepper hoummous is my fave.

And tuna is cat food? I might agree but weren't you the one contemplating eating your squirrels at one point? ;-)

PS Tuna tastes EXCELLENT with half a jar of mayo mixed into it but I'm guessing that would blow the whole "diet" thing...

I didn't even try hummus until about 5 years ago - now I love it! But I usually go with a spicy jalapeno hummus! :D
