Today….

I was looking in my closet for a pair of jeans that didn’t look dead. I came across a pair I got from Jim about 6 years ago but didn’t really like and that didn’t fit to good. They are a low waisted pair and the muffin top that use to be there made it so I wouldn’t wear them. Well today I decided to just try them on, I figured maybe I could get them buttoned and just see how much more I’d have to lose to wear them. Guess what, the fit now. A little bit of muffin top but no where near what I expected. WOW was I happy. I was giddy to feel and see this difference. It is working, all the exercise and changing what I’m eating. So very far to still go but a great start.

It has been such a challenge this week. I’m getting a bit tired of Jillian but I still can’t keep up the full time on Level 1 so figure I shouldn’t go to Level 2. I love the Eye Toy is great but only works best in full daylight so I can’t exercise at 5 in the morning with it and I do most of my workouts then. Today I did normal exercising along with the new ones Suzi told us about. I thought they looked easy, boy was I wrong. Lots of work to go there. I can’t wait to start riding bike and walking. Now that the kids are leaving about 5:30 and it’s still light for another 30 minutes or so I think I’m going to start.

I still have the challenge of not having something sweet after I eat. I’ve been chewing gum after dinner to help with that but I am missing my chocolate. I’m such a chocolate nut this part of my change is really hard. I am still trying to get a taste for whole wheat noodles and brown rice. So far it’s not a go but I’ve mixed them with white so it helps a bit. I need to find a peanut butter too that’s not so high in fat and all. It use to be my staple when there was nothing I liked or was hungry. Having the diet journal has really helped. I’ve kept my calories under 1500, my fats under 50g, my protein near 60g or more, my cholesterol under 200mgs but am having problems keeping my carbs under 150. Still lots of work to go but I am learning.

It’s just 12 days to my next weigh in and I really want to have lost another 6 lbs and some more inches so it’s onwards and upwards to keep this life style change going. Thank you all for your help, your support, your words of wisdom and encouragement, there is no way I could of ever gotten started or kept going so far if it wasn’t for all of you!!

Take care and have a blessed evening.

Isn't it the best when you put on a pair of jeans they used to fit and they fit again?! I had the almost exact story. Congrats!!! Keep it up and you will find another pair of old jeans fitting! WOO HOO.

Julie--THAT'S GREAT!!!! Way to go. I'm impressed. I've got to get back in the habit of keeping a food journal-I know I would do much better than the corn chips I ate for lunch today!! You're such an inspiration!!

Thanks for stopping by i.craft! As for the endeavor you are taking on... just remember "a little plus a little equals your goal" Changing things like food and exercise routines are very difficult but as my pastors wife says, "skinny feels better than that chocolate tastes". :)

I love peanut butter AND chocolate. For me...I allow myself one Hersey Kiss a day as a treat.
For peanut butter, I have Skippy Natural. Yumm!!

I so love that feeling when you slip something on that hasn't fit in a long time. So proud of you and excited! I don't know of any peanut butter without such high fats and such but have you looked into organic or some kind of healthy peanut butters? You really are doing great. Is there any other exercise videos that you may want to try? since Jillian is starting to be boring? I am thinking about Tracey Mallet's videos (when I can afford). Here are some of her vids http://www.traceymallett.com/fitness-dvds-1.html ....I am still learning but right now I only have EA sports active and another dvd EA more more workouts (for Wii). Can't wait to see how your weigh-in goes! Hope you have an awesome week.
