How many calories does….

Running a trencher use up and shoveling tons of dirt and rocks? That is what we did all weekend and boy do I hurt and am I beyond tired. We had to trench 150’ in hard packed clay, rock and big rock and 210’ in much softer but root impacted yard. And since the trencher we rented only digs the hole we had to push all that dirt back in and the requires lots of arm and back strength. In the end we’ll have a cheaper electric bill and also no line loss but to do that WOW.

My nemeses when we returned it today

I’m not quite sure what part of me hurts the most, the stomach muscles, my arms or my back. But I lost 2 lbs while working out in the heat and sunshine ( I had gained one pound mid week so lost that and one more).

So my official weight for this weeks weight in is 172.4.

My eating was weird this weekend. Nothing on plan only because who’s going to cook when your running a trencher. I just did salad from a bag, fruit from containers and yogurt. I didn’t once count calories so I couldn’t even begin to tell you the total but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t over.

I started a new exercise program. It’s called Learn to Run a 5K in 100 days. Brad Gansberg is the teacher and he’s done some amazing things and one of them is to hopefully teach me to be able to run a 5K in 100 days. It is 110 days until I want to fully run a 5K. Now Brad was a sweetie cuz he started this challenge and all the instructions 3 weeks ago and really didn’t want any new students but I explained what I wanted to do, what I’ve been doing and since I have just close to 100 days, well he excepted my. YEAH!!! I had planned on starting my first training day Friday but that didn’t work out with all the work we did since then but tomorrow I am off in the morning so first thing I will do day 1.

So this doesn’t change my goals for Debbi’s Slimmer this Summer challenge except I won’t be doing the C25K program, I’ll work with Brad. It also doesn’t effect my Phase 6 with Allan so all is good there.

So all in all, life is good. Busy but good. Walk/jogging tomorrow, rug cleaning and then since Mike is off we are going to go geo-caching and scouts in the evening. That will take care of Monday.

I am sorry I haven’t had time to stop by any blogs to support anyone this weekend. I will try and make it this week. From the ones I read last week you all were doing fantastic. Keep it up, I know that you can do what you planned on doing.

Take care and God Bless!!

Wow, what a project. I am sure you burned a lot of calories.

When ever I get the shovel out and dig in the garden I always feel it the next day.

Can't wait to hear about your 5k adventure!

Yay!! I'm so glad to see you joined 5k in 100 days and that Brad accepted you!! I love it and Brad is awesome. BTW...My muscles hurt just looking at those pictures. You're going to be one buff mama by the time this challenge is over. I hope you have a great week.

I should check that out. I have tried c25k and stopped after a week when my back was killing me. But have not yet given up on the idea of "running."

That looks like a great workout, Julie. I haven't been around much this weekend either. I've been chilling and taking off some blogging time. It was a nice day out yesterday and I got out in the morning to enjoy it. I hope your soreness is gone soon. Hang in there with the challenges. I know you can do it.

Look at you girl! Out there doing all that work and looking fantastic!

I checked out Brad's program but saw it started a while back so...anyway, let me know how it goes. Do you think he'll start it again after this one?

I will look forward to seeing what you have to say about Brad and his program. I am putting off any running for now. Just keeping up biking and starting stairs.

I bet you were sore. That machine must have been hard to control. Rest up. I am sure you burned a ton of calories.

Color me impressed. I think this is why some Primal folks emphasis functional exercise (stuff like real like hard work) cause it can be so tough and all-body work. You have a task, you do it, do it hard, and the body likes that. :)

Very impressed at you guys self-sufficient energy. Very! You're like "I Am Strong Roaring Woman! Gimme a field and I'll totally get it done!"

Big hugs...

What a crazy and hard workout yard work is. Its great to work out doors, but unless you've done it before you really dont realize how bloody hard work it is. Keep hydrated my friend. God Bless and you are looking great by the way! Gracie

A skirt, you worked in a skirt and a yellow top...you've come a long way baby!!!

Wrestling that machine! Right on. Gracie mentions the hydrating. I tell you when I didn't hydrate, I lost slower. It is some houdini chemisty magic trick I do not grok but recognize as something a miss in my previous attempts at weight loss.

That's an all over workout if I have ever seen one. Who needs weights? Perhaps we should all rent one of those things and ditch something. Looking forward to finishing this Challenge with you.

What a woman!!!!!!! And here I thought my two miles was impressive - haha for me it was - I still weigh 80 pounds more than you - so back to you - way to go - I am so thrilled to see that you are enjoying your life and pushing yourself to run that "manly" equipment and that 5K - this reminds me - when I lose some weight - I will feel more like doing those things that challenge but also leave you feeling greatly accomplished! Loved the post!

I've had a hectic few days, so I've been missing too. I've been thinking about you, today and my email to you was due. How do you do all this? I can't even imagine myself there.

Patting you on the back though. I'd have said you deserve your favorite meal.

Hope the new training goes great!
