TGIF!!!!

First, it’s Friday and that means Java's Follow Friday 40 and Over. Stop on over and take a peek.

Also, did you notice anything? Java made me another button this time for my main blog. It is so cool and I love it. Thank you Java, truly thank you!!!

Next is my update on Steve's Hot 100. Remember I joined the challenge for the last 100 days of 2010. My goals are listed on the side and well, I wasn’t perfect at all. It’s a good thing this was just the first week because other then following #1, working on my weight loss I didn’t do to well with #2, fish flopping exercises and #3 meal planning. Why is is so hard to just sit down Sunday evening and write up a menu? Why is it so hard to work with my weights? Well tomorrow is still part of this week along with Saturday so I could get two days of exercise in anyways. So far this week I’ve logged 10.3 miles of walking with new distant, 5 miles and new speeds, 3.8 mph. I cleaned out my closet today too, found 3 pairs of shorts that are too big and 2 pairs that were now just right. YEAH!!! I don’t weigh in until Monday so will post that then.

Do you know what BMR is? Basel Metabolic Rate. It’s how many calories you need to just survive. Go HERE to figure out what you need. Then go HERE to figure out how many calories you are burning with whatever exercise you are doing. Then take your BMR number, add your activity calories and then subtract your food calories from that total. If you're eating more than you're burning,  you'll gain weight. If you're burning more than you eat, you'll lose weight.

So for me, I need 1595 to survive. I walked 80 minutes today which burned 520 calories so adding them up it comes to 2115. After talling up my meals for today I ate 1335 calories. I’m in the hole 780 so that means if I did this every day I would lose a little over a pound a week. They say you need to cut 500 calories from your diet to lose a pound a week. Understand? I took me this whole week to finally figure it out. I asked two of my blog buddies for help with this too because for some reason I just couldn’t figure it out.

If you need more help understanding, go to about.com and ask a question and after some researching you’ll get your answer or like me, before I did that I asked a couple of you guys and that helped me so much.

So that’s that my friends. I hope you all have the most blessed Friday and a terrific, relaxing, enjoyable weekend.

P.S. I have found another great Life Style Change blog hop. Check out my side bar and click and go.

So I supposedly need almost 1800 to live each day? Cool. Why aren't I losing weight then! Weird. With even a bit of exercise, I would have to be mainaining in excess of 2000 calories a day just to be breaking even and I so don't do that. My worst days are usually like 2000 calories or slightly more. Most are way under. Who knows.

Awesome on the clothes front. Great to know that you are losing weight by finding clothes that are too big. A boon to find things that fit so that you have something to wear! It sounds like you are getting your "program" together, too. Excellent!

It took me a long time to figure out the math on weight loss too but now I don't even have to think about it. GREAT JOB on working on your weight loss--at least you kept to your first goal!
