No more 5K in 100 days…

I wrote Brad last night and told him I just can not keep up with the pace I’ve been doing. With working 14 hours a day, working with the scouts getting ready with the BWCA, with my garden, yard and so much more I am not getting in my 3 days a week of 50-60 minutes of walking. I am disappointed that I quit after he let me in after he closed this training session but I just can not do it. I am going to go back to the C25K when I can get my walks in and even though I wanted to run the full 5K in October I will just do my best, like I always do with my races and then come this winter I will train for a full run race, maybe even a 10K. I just can’t fit it all in and the stress of feeling like I’ve failed Brad just isn’t worth it.

Just more of my honesty. I can’t do it all, no matter how important it is I just can’t fit it in right now.

I hope you’re having a blessed Sunday. Take care my friends.

I think you made a good decision, Julie. Don't beat yourself up about it. You can only do what you have time and energy to do. There will be other races and you have plenty of time to train for something later on. Good luck. :)

I think you did the right thing- you are getting plenty of exercise as it is and the races will be there later. I'm sure Brad understands- he seems like a very nice fellow! If you spread yourself too thin, take on too much, etc. your body is going to rebel against you. You are shooting for healthy, not dead!

Maybe my heel will be healed soon and the two of us can train, long distance, together!

You have to do what's best with you. Thanks for sharing, it goes to show us all that there will be bumps in the road and goal changes - but we have to push through with what works for us and keep us healthy in body and in mind.

Exercise is for the body's good, it's not to stress us out. Rest, balance, these matter, too, in health, in weight loss, in life.

Don't guilt out over it and just move as well as you can and it's all good. Do remember to get good rest as you can!

Happy Sunday, sweets.

I, too, think this is a very healthy decision for you. You are so physically active right now with gardening, prep for the BWCA, and chasing after the DC kids, too. I bet you already burn a load of calories doing those things. Time to be easy on yourself, which you are!

You don't have to do it all, and recognizing that you had too much on your plate is huge. Women try to take on the world and then we get all irritated when we fail. I say do what you can and do it well rather than "half-doing" everything.

Also you need to enjoy doing workouts, or you won't keep doing them.

You made the right choice.

No failure here... Exercise is a good thing when it's balanced with our lives and activities, but it can actually be damaging when it's not. Good decision!

As you may have seen on my blog, I am all about balance. You are living a full life and adding another big challenge isn't necessary. Congrats on the continued weight loss. 60 pounds rocks!
